Picasso and Modigliani Masterpieces Showcased in Dubai — Korean-Led Company Secures Rare Government Licenses

A major art exhibition featuring works affiliated with global masterpieces by Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani has recently been held in Dubai, drawing significant attention from the regional art community.

Picasso Space, which obtained licensing related to Picasso works and curated pieces by Modigliani, continued its exhibition of certified artworks under the official approval of Noor Royal Gallery. The event gained further prominence with the attendance of a princess from the Sharjah ruling family, underscoring the growing cultural importance of the exhibition within the UAE.

The exhibition and auction were officially licensed by the Dubai government and organized by Picasso Space Exhibit LLC. The company’s CEO, Jung Hoon Lee, a Korean entrepreneur, led the initiative in collaboration with Farhan, a local director and former CEO of a Nasdaq-listed company. The event brought together Italian and broader European artists, reinforcing Dubai’s role as an international cultural crossroads.

Noor Royal Gallery is widely regarded as one of Dubai’s top-tier galleries. Known for holding and permanently exhibiting authentic Picasso works, the gallery has earned investor confidence due to its reputation for value preservation and institutional credibility. It has also drawn public attention for its connections with Abu Dhabi royal circles.

Industry observers note that it is rare for a Korean-founded company to obtain full mainland licensing from the Dubai government, including both exhibition and auction licenses valid across Dubai. The achievement is viewed as a significant milestone in establishing a fully compliant, government-recognized art business platform in the region.

CEO Jung Hoon Lee stated, “Through our agreement with Noor Royal Gallery, we aim to continue presenting distinguished European masterpieces and serve as a cultural and business bridge between Europe and Asia.”

He further added, “We are receiving proposals from overseas partners regarding blockchain-based initiatives and other global IT collaborations. With additional licensing partnerships, we plan to expand into technology-driven projects, including fractional ownership models for fine art, while continuing research and development in this field.”

Many stakeholders anticipate that this exhibition will strengthen Dubai’s position as a strategic hub connecting the Asian and European art and investment markets.
